Spirit Airlines enters a busy route, competing with Southwest Airlines and Alaska Airlines, by flying from Las Vegas, NV to Portland, OR, on a low cost carrier.
This service started on September 22 and operates twice-daily, which means a direct competition with Southwest’s four daily flights and Alaska Airlines’ 25 flights a week.
Steve Schreiber, Port of Portland aviation director said: ““We welcome Spirit Airlines to Portland International Airport. We expect this service to be a big hit as Las Vegas is our most travelled route with some 450,000 passengers travelling each year between PDX and Las Vegas.”
